The winter months are crucial for building the foundation of success. Here's how we approach off-season training to come back stronger...
Winter training is about more than maintaining fitness - it's when we develop new skills, strengthen weaknesses, and build deeper partnerships with our horses.
Our program focuses on variety: flatwork, gymnastic exercises, and mental conditioning. The horses need to stay engaged and happy, so we mix intensive training with lighter sessions and plenty of turnout time.
For the young horses, winter is particularly important. It's when we establish good habits and build their confidence progressively. Each horse develops at their own pace, and respecting that is crucial for long-term success.
